The brief
What we were asked for
Give restaurants and pubs a way for guests to order and pay from the table without waiting for a member of staff, and give the kitchen a live board instead of a docket spike.
The challenge
What made it difficult
The constraints that shaped every decision after them.
- Venues run courses, rounds and split bills — the order model has to survive all three.
- Front of house still needs to intervene: add an item, comp a round, move a table.
- Every venue wanted its own look, its own domain and its own payment account.

Table-aware ordering
Per-table QR codes carry the table identity through the whole order, so rounds and additions attach to the right bill.

Kitchen display with course control
Orders arrive grouped and timed, with status changes that front of house can see immediately.

Staff override built in
Manual orders, manual payment and adjustments are first-class actions, not workarounds.
04
Venue branding end to end
Colours, logo, menu structure and domain all per-venue on a single deployment.
The outcome
Where it got to
- Guests order and pay without flagging anybody down.
- The kitchen works from a screen that reflects the room in real time.
- A new venue can be live on its own subdomain in an afternoon.
